NYC Yellow Cab Driver Discovers Unconscious Passenger, Thought to Be Drunk, is Dead
26 year old woman, placed unconscious into a yellow cab, is pronounced dead. Police investigate if foul play was involved
Last week, a NYC TLC driver made the terrifying discovery that a female passenger he thought was simply drunk was actually dead. According to the NY Post, in the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 18th an unconscious woman was carried to a taxi by four men. The reporting is that the young woman’s friend sent the cab for her after she got a call from her friend (i.e., the passenger) saying she was intoxicated at a Lower East Side club in Manhattan. When the driver arrived at the destination in Queens, the friend came out and noticed the woman was unconscious. The driver then transported the woman and her friend to New York Presbyterian in Queens where the young female passenger was pronounced dead.
According to the Post, an intense police investigation has now begun, with cops executing a search warrant at a reputed illegal nightclub in the Lower East Side. Reports say the victim did not smell of alcohol and had “suspicious” burns on her face, neck and back, as well as bruises.
The investigation continues.
