Strong TLC Driver Turnout Expected at Next Monday’s NYC Council Meeting
City Council to weigh bills on commuter vans, FHVs, and commercial curb access; drivers and IDG rally expected outside City Hall. Outcome could impact TLC plate and taxi medallion values

This upcoming Monday, September 15th, at 10am, the City Council will open hearings on a slate of bills that could reshape how taxis, for-hire vehicle (FHVs), and commuter vans (1,2) operate in New York City.
From granting FHVs access to commercial parking space to expanding the TLC Board with two additional seats for licensed drivers, the proposals address long-standing driver concerns. Proposed legislation could eventually have major implications for city curb space, enforcement, and potentially the value of TLC plates and medallions.
