Based on feedback and public testimony received during TLCโs Wednesday, August 23rd public hearing, the NYC for-hire transport regulator added 30 additional days to a newly created โShort-Term FHV License Storage Programโ.
Drivers and fleets will have 90 days (vs. the previously proposed 60 days) to put their TLC Plates into storage, once every 2 year license period. Based on previous guidance, the new TLC Plate Storage Program will become active in November.
Note, any TLC Plates not taken out of storage after 90 days can be subject to revocation (i.e., you PERMANENTLY lose your TLC Plates).
The TLC also approved new livery base camera and partition rules, which were discussed during a Wednesday, August 9th TLC public hearing.
