Pandemic era TLC Plate storage program is ending this month (August 31st)
In the August issue of Black Car News, TLC Chair & Commissioner David Do reveals there are roughly 3,500 FHV Licenses (a/k/a TLC Plates) that remain in storage. As weβve reported previously, the pandemic era FHV Storage Program is ending this month (August 31st).
This figure implies about 1,200 TLC Plates have been pulled out of storage since last summer, when the TLC disclosed there were 4,724 FHV Licenses in storage.
Although there will be a TLC hearing on Wednesday, August 23rd at 10am, to discuss the launch of a new short-term TLC Plate storage program, the existing and proposed programs DO NOT overlap. In other words, a TLC driver or fleet cannot keep their FHV License stored by transferring their TLC Plates from the expiring storage program to the newly proposed one.
