In a tough video and news report to watch (⚠️ warning before watching⚠️), it appears a TLC-licensed driver may have assaulted an Access-A-Ride passenger. The incident took place on November 1st and based on video footage (see below), the driver accused of the assault appears to have been driving a TLC-plated Toyota Sienna.

Keesha Jones, who was using the Access-A-Ride service after suffering a stroke(s), readily admits the conflict started out with an argument in the vehicle. In addition, Ms. Jones is a former Access-A-Ride driver herself, according to News 12 (The Bronx) and NBC New York. Footage, which appears to be from a street camera, shows a driver assaulting Ms. Jones, on the street, after she’s dropped off. Ms. Jones now intends to sue the MTA for failing to properly screen the driver dispatched to her.

The NYPD says the case is still open. Based on NBC New York reporting, the driver still might be allowed to transport non-Access-A-Ride passengers.
