⚠️ TLC Vehicle Crashes Into Restaurant, After Hit & Run
Surveillance video shows an NYC TLC driver, who had a passenger, was the victim of hit & run, causing his SUV to crash into restaurant in Upper Manhattan. More than 20 people hurt, but no deaths
A TLC-plated Toyota RAV4 was rear-ended, causing it to crash into an Inwood restaurant on Monday night around 9pm.
Based on surveillance video (see videos below) and NYPD reporting, a white Audi exited a gas station and struck the rear of a TLC-plated RAV4, causing its driver to lose control of the vehicle. The driver was reported to be doing a job at the time and had a passenger. The vehicle crashed into the front window of the Inwood Bar and Grill, located at 4892 Broadway (near W 204th St.). The Audi’s driver fled the scene of the accident.
The NYPD said a total of 22 people were injured in the collision, mostly by flying glass and 19 people were taken to hospitals. The NYC TLC driver, Sory Toure, was transported to New York Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in stable condition, according to officials. Police added that none of the injuries were life-threatening.
