New York Taxi Workers Alliance (NYTWA) says more than 2,000 protested yesterday against Uber and Lyft blocking access, often mid-shift, to their NYC driver apps. TLC also blamed for oversaturation
"over 2,000 people (in total)". Think the "(in total)" were key words we used. The 2,000 figure was given by NYTWA in its press release and while we agree with you, at any one point of the several hour strike, there was likely not 2,000 people, *in total* 2,000 people might have shown up over several hours from what we saw on social media. Some politicians also ended up attending the strike. The main takeaway we think is not the 2,000 figure, it's that this was a significant strike action and many drivers showed up (was visible). Whether the exact total figure is 1,000 or 1,500 or 2,000, you would have to observe the numbers over several hours and count that.
I see 200, max 300. Not 2000.
