⚡🗣️ IDG Will Hold "Drivers Right To Ownership" Rally Tomorrow At 10AM
The Independent Drivers Guild (IDG) will hold a rally tomorrow at 10AM in front of TLC's Long Island City office to demand active drivers have continued ability to access EV TLC Plates
The Independent Drivers Guild (IDG), an influential TLC driver advocacy group, will hold a “Drivers Right To Ownership” rally tomorrow, Wednesday, December 6th at 10AM, in front of TLC’s Long Island City office (The Falchi Building, 31-00 47th Ave, Queens, NY 11101).
The rally comes ahead of an upcoming court decision related to a lawsuit filed by the New York Taxi Workers Alliance (NYTWA) against the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC). The legal action stemmed from the surprise decision to reinstate the EV exemption to the NYC For-Hire Vehicle (FHV) License Pause (a/k/a TLC Plate Cap). The NYTWA is likely the “medallion group” being referenced in IDG’s post.
We will continue to cover the NYTWA vs. TLC lawsuit, but if you want more background to the situation, the video below might be helpful.

I would agree to this if IDG would fight for driver's for hybrid vehicles EV are too costly
I seriously wish IDG wouldn’t fight for just this costly EV alternative but would instead fight for drivers to drive all types of fueled vehicles (fossil-fueled, hybrid, or electric vehicles). This is what drivers who are renting truly need. By forcing renters to buy an EV as their only alternative could be like jumping from the pan into the fire.
