Many insurers are nervous to underwrite physical damage insurance for NYC TLC-plated Teslas (& other expensive EVs). For Model 3 (maybe Y), Chicago-based Transit General appears willing
Transit general are not covering collision for telsa model 3, only liability insurance i know drivers who have brought the telsa model 3 and are driving them with just liability, no insurance company as of yet are covering collision

Imagine paying all that money for a Tesla, getting deactivated by Uber (which will be easier after drivers flood market), then getting into an accident with no collision insurance. 😬
I managed to get collision from transit general and liability from American transit via a broker, $575 a month for my Tesla model y. Mind you this was before tlc opened ev plates for everyone. My guess is everyone’s individual driving record and experience is at play when insurance companies decide to fully insure Tesla specific drivers.

Tlc is the worst city agency and they hired all the losers to screw the legal system

Yes, no companies here want to ensure my model Y. Im putting $300 to the side every month in case something happens.
