Only if it’s a Wheel Chair Accessible (WAV) vehicle or you buy an FHV Corp that has access to an existing FHV license(s) - technical term the TLC uses for TLC plates)

Solution is simple BUT They want the working CALSS driverS TO GET get nowhere they work for rental and leasing company. they increase the demand and cut the supply that’s how they work. Open your eyes people. If that the problem why do you keep giving TLC driving license. And the number 75% of TLC plates are individuals THATS A BIG FAKE NUMBER. AND 30000 TLC plates or more not sure with the number not operating that’s all crop plates sitting in the garage. And TLC putting cap on drivers who really needs the plates.SHAME ON TLC.

I wish my sound can be reached to someone can think about what I'm going to say . As hard worker driver as one of many same like me in nyc we become a slaves to limousine company's they don't even give us the legal minimum wage here in NYC which is illegal + also tlc rental company's and other transportation company's. also we can't open our business and be free any more because the nyc tlc decided to stop The tlc license plate numbers after making a mess in nyc given everybody a license plate number with or without experience for any type of car or any color making the market going crazy and people playing with the prices and open the way to the black market to control the prices of 1 or more license plate numbers under corporate or not also there is no limit for 1 person to have more than what he need all of this because big company's and they completely forgot about our freedom As a driver's we don't want to be a slaves to any company's the time for slaves is already gone long time ago. and we can't go any where any more unless just leaving nyc because authorities wrong decision..please try to fix this mess...and this is my thoughts

1-pull back any license plate number without the owner use only.

2- open back the license plate numbers only 1 for each ny family residence for at least 3 years so they can feel free to do business

3- stop the black market by stop the owners of TLC license plate number from paying or selling or registering under someone else's name or a different car not belongs to them.

I think this way NYC TLC can make the Palance in the market getting the control back again and the most important thing is To be FAIR 👌 with the other driver's they cannot see them behind all this mess and make them FREE back again...thanks

I hear what you are saying and you're making a lot of great points. Many drivers probably feel the way you do and it's always a balance (mixed with politics) about how things ultimately end up. I've written previously on lease caps (i.e., similar to ones applied in the yellow cab industry) on TLC rentals to prevent abuse. The main issue with the 1 plate, 1 license policy is it will collapse the yellow cab medallion market - scarcity value will plummet. Some of the topics you've mentioned above, I will also write about in the future. Stay tuned and you are heard! Best, Dawood

TLC made it big mistake.they should do it 6 years ago .Nyc streets flooding with car’s already.this is Nyc TLC mess and they’re responsible ,and they must clean up their mess.not honest hard working drivers.

I definitely agree for-hire vehicle supply got out of hand. Hopefully, with the FHV License Pause and NYC recovering we can reach a sustainable supply / demand equilibrium

Selling a business is not illegal. The industry goes through mergers and acquisitions all the time and that includes tlc plates tied to corporations. TLC is overreaching here and they have no right to devaluate an asset because the original owner wishes to sell their business. Especially if they won’t issue new plates to that Corp that will have a new owner. It’s simply a transfer of ownership. Even bases can be sold and transferred (there’s an application process and a $500 fee for that) and some bases own tlc plates. Even if it’s one plate tied to Corp, it’s perfectly legal to sell that business, even if it doesn’t come with a book of clientele.

Yes, I agree. Corporate-controlled TLC plates can be sold as you are selling a business essentially. However, what very clearly cannot be sold is individually controlled FHV Licenses and the TLC is making that clear.
