Two people, alleged to have kidnapped, beaten & robbed an NYC TLC driver of $20,000, were charged this week. Ordeal included violent threat of “We will kill you and your family”
Nothing short of 20+ years will be appropriate to send a message that drivers (and their family members!) are not targets for these sleazy easy-money thieves. Keep in mind this driver was held against his will and KIDNAPPED. His life and that of his family was threatened. His hard-earned income was stolen and still he was injured!! To add insult to injury, he was dropped off in an unknown location far from his family. The emotional trauma will be with him for the rest of this driver’s life. It will be very difficult for him to ever have peace again and he definitely has to move from where he lived.
