Uber has successfully delayed the implementation of a NYC TLC driver pay raise, ahead of its planned December 19th implementation. Yellow taximeter increase is not impacted
Currently on Londonβs mains stream television, Uber are advertising how itβs drivers who are now all employees have holiday pay , sick pay and other fringe benefits.
Bearing in mind it spent billions of dollars on advertising and lobbying the political elite on trying to defend its drivers are all self employed contractors.

I believe this is TLC rule they didn't follow , they used a different index, they'll have to pass a new rule and i think as well the city council , using the new index which is more costly to Uber, the new index is a transportation index, which is correct, after all they are in transportation
rule
59D-22 Minimum Driver Payment Requirements
(a) (1) (i) (2) (3) (4) Consumer Price Index Adjustments. Beginning January 1, 2020, and
continuing each calendar year thereafter, the dollar amounts in the per
mile rates and per minute rates contained in this subdivision will be
adjusted using the 12-month Percentage Change in the Consumer Price
Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers for the NY-NJ-PA
20 metro area. The Consumer Price Index adjusted per mile and per
minute rates will be posted on the Commission's website.
I hope Mayor Adams, TLC Chairman Do, and City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams are in hushed talks over this issue because this is BS!!
Uber may have a new CEO but still very toxic company.
