The NYPD need help finding individual who is thought to have attacked an 82-year-old TLC-licensed yellow cab driver last week. According to authorities, the taxi driver confronted the suspect about an unpaid fare on Canal Street around 1:05 a.m. on November 10th (Friday). That’s when the man allegedly punched the driver, causing him to fall to the ground unconscious. The suspect then kicked the victim, before hopping into the back of a different yellow taxi and fled the scene.
Paramedics took the driver to New York - Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
No arrests have yet been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Police describe the man as being around 25 to 30 years old and 5’9” to 6’ tall. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket, dark-colored pants and light-colored shoes.
