😔 NYC TLC Driver Put In Chokehold By Passenger
TLC driver assaulted after asking passenger, who might have been touching himself inappropriately, to get out of vehicle. NYPD looking for passenger (suspect), who also stole driver's keys
54 year old, yet-to-be named, NYC TLC driver was allegedly put into a chokehold by passenger, after driver observed “lewd act”
Incident took place when driver was taking passenger to Shaffer Street and Broadway (happened near the border of Bushwick & Bed-Stuy) around 8:35 am on August 14th
The suspect also took TLC driver’s car keys, driver did not seek medical attention
The suspect is described as man with a medium build, approximately 20 to 30 years of age, 5'0" tall, 180 pounds, with black hair in short braids.
According to Brooklyn Paper reporting and public NYPD data, in the 83rd Precinct, where the incident occurred, there have been 240 reported robberies so far this year. Reported robberies and felony assaults, are up by 7.6% and 27.1%, respectively, in the 83rd Precinct vs. last year. However, reported burglary and grand larceny auto (G.L.A.) are down 24.2% and 21.0%, respectively, vs. last year.
