🚨 TLC Needs Help Finding Driver, Who Got Assaulted
NYC TLC driver appears to have been assaulted by multiple individuals in front of his yellow cab on Wednesday. TLC is trying to identify driver and more information about incident
Our friends at NYC Taxi News recently informed us of an email they received from the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission, related to a video shared on Twitter by handle @ Waqarshaukat16.
In an email communication with NYC Taxi News, the NYC TLC USB (Uniformed Services Bureau) Special Investigations Unit wrote the following:
“As you may know, the TLC’s Office of Equity and Inclusion attempts to contact TLC-licensed Drivers who may be victims of serious crimes while on duty, and offer any available support and access to resources that might help them.
The link below directs to a Twitter video which seems to show a Medallion Taxicab Driver being attacked and beaten by a group of 5 people, most likely in Manhattan, but we are unable to identify the Driver and Vehicle and determine the exact time and place this occurred from the posted video. We need these in order to request details from the NYPD.
If you are aware of this incident and can provide any information, please contact me as soon as possible.

NYC Taxi News' Abe Mittleman & Carolyn Protz believe the incident took place between 6:30pm & 7pm on the Northeast corner of 34th St and 6th Avenue in Manhattan this Wednesday, July 19th.

We checked in with NYC Taxi News a few hours ago and we understand no progress has been made in identifying the driver or the other suspects in the video. Therefore, we wanted to flag to our community, in case anyone can provide some help with the NYPD / TLC’s investigation. Please contact 718-267-4503 if you have any information that could help.

Did the driver that was assaulted not report the incident to TLC and now the TLC now wants to fine him and/or suspends his license?
