TLC "Plate Cap" Continues With WAV Exemption Remaining
Biannual TLC review continues FHV License Pause (aka TLC Plate Cap). Almost 30,000 TLC-plated vehicles did not perform trips for Uber or Lyft in January 2022

Although a little later than expected, the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC) released its biannual findings related to the issuance of new for-hire vehicle licenses. The TLC determined that it will NOT ISSUE any new FHV licenses at this time (the next review will be released in September). The wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV) exemption remains.
