The NYPD is seeking public assistance in identifying a person who appears to have pepper sprayed an 82 year old yellow cab driver in Crotona Park.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on March 9th at approximately 6:15 p.m. when an individual got out of a gray sedan and engaged in an argument with the TLC driver at the intersection of Lowell Street and Longfellow Avenue in Longwood (Bronx). The suspect then used pepper spray on the driver before getting back into his car and fleeing the scene. The NYPD has reported that the driver received treatment at the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
Incident #2: 71 Year Old Yellow Cab Driver Punched & Robbed After Passenger Dispute
According to authorities, a 71 year old taxi driver was beaten and robbed by a woman in the Bronx after an argument with her and three others over opening the trunk of his car. The TLC driver picked up the four women on Grand Concourse near East 150th Street around 9:30 p.m. on March 20th, NYPD said.
As the argument escalated, the group got out of the cab, and one of the women punched the driver in the face multiple times. NYPD, surveillance footage & PIX 11 reporting then indicate she snatched the driver’s iPhone, before the group of women fled north along Grand Concourse on foot.
The driver declined medical attention at the scene, according to reports.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
